Our new born Sol white and red in solid gold for the first year at Millesime Bio wine contest!
Challenge Millésime Bio, the wine competition of the salon Millésime Bio which attracts over 1000 samples each year, took place this year on Tuesday 12th January at the Altrad Rugby Stadium in Montpellier.
We presented our two new natural wines « Sol en Corbières » (white and red) for the first time this year. Both wines were awarded a solid gold medal at Challenge Millésime Bio 2016.
The previous year, on the occasion of our first participation in the competition, it was our Château Beauregard Mirouze Lauzina Rouge 2013 AOP Corbières which obtained a gold medal. Three wines recompensed with three golds….. not a bad result !
A few words about the 2014 vintage…
In 2014, the hand-picking of a plot of Syrah was interrupted by an enormous rainstorm. The grapes that were left were then dried by a strong westerly wind (the Cers) before being picked, sorted and isolated in a small vat. Everything was done by hand, and sometimes even with our feet, such as treading down the grapes. The wild yeasts kicked in, no sulphites, just pure ripe fruit..
